THESSALY. Pharsalos. 4th-3rd centuries BC. Trichalkon (Bronze, 19 mm, 7.20 g, 4 h). Head of Athena facing, head turned slightly to left, wearing triple-crested Attic helmet, holding spear in right hand and shield on left arm. Rev. Thessalian cavalryman, holding flail in upraised right hand and reins in left, on horse rearing right; to left, footman advancing right, holding mace. BCD Thessaly II 674.6 (same obverse die). HGC 4, 645 ff var. (legend arrangement). Lavva - (V170/R-). Green patina. About very fine.
