SICILY. Syracuse. Deinomenid Tyranny, 485-466 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 24 mm, 16.71 g, 4 h), under Hieron I, circa 480/78-475. Charioteer, holding kentron in left hand and reins in right, driving slow quadriga right; above, Nike flying to right, crowning horses with wreath. Rev. ΣVRΑKΟ-ΣΙΟ-Ν Diademed head of Arethusa to right, wearing pearl necklace; around, four dolphins clockwise. Boehringer 158 (V70/R110). Randazzo -. Toned.
