LUCANIA. Velia. Circa 280 BC. Didrachm (Silver, 21 mm, 7.48 g, 6 h). Head of Athena to left, wearing crested Attic helmet adorned with Pegasos; above visor, A; before neck, Φ; behind neck, IE in shallow incuse square. Rev. ΥEΛHTΩN Lion attacking stag to left. BMC 111 (same obverse die). HN III 1318. SNG Cambridge 693 (same obverse die). Williams 581 (O286/R406). Wonderful old collection toning. Nearly extremely fine.
