KINGS OF MACEDON. Philip II, 359-336 BC. 1/5 Tetradrachm (Silver, 13.5 mm, 2.49 g, 7 h), struck posthumously, Amphipolis, circa 315-394. Diademed head of Apollo to right. Rev. ΦIΛIΠΠOΥ Youth on horseback right; below, uncertain control (handles of a plow?). Le Rider -. SNG ANS -. Toned and probably unpublished. Good very fine.

The control on the reverse of this little coin is partially off the flan making it impossible to accurately identify as Le Rider does not illustrate any 1/5 tetradrachms with a symbol that is even remotely similar. Based on the style of the head of Apollo, this cataloguer believes it to be a late posthumous issue from Amphipolis as opposed to being from Pella.
