SICILY. Syracuse. Deinomenid Tyranny, 485-466 BC. Didrachm (Silver, 21 mm, 8.24 g, 9 h), under Gelon I, circa 485-480. Nude and bearded horseman riding to right, leading a spare horse to his left. Rev. ΣV-RAQ-OΣΙ-ΟN Head of Arethusa to right, wearing necklace and pearl diadem, her hair falling down behind; around, four dolphins swimming clockwise. AMB 429 (same dies).
