CALABRIA. Tarentum. Circa 272-240 BC. Nomos (Silver, 18 mm, 6.25 g, 9 h), Eu..., and Tistiar..., magistrates. EY TI-ΣTIAP Ephebe, nude, holding the reins with his left hand and wreath with his extended right, riding to left. Rev. ΤΑΡΑΣ Phalanthos, nude, riding dolphin to left, holding [Nike] in his outstretched right hand and reversed trident in his left; to left, bunch of grapes. HN III 1026. Vlasto 844 (this obverse die). Well centered and with a lovely iridescent old cabinet toning. Struck on a tight flan, otherwise, about extremely fine.
