BRUTTIUM. Rhegion. Circa 445-435 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 16.90 g, 7 h). Lion’s mask facing; to right, bunch of grapes. Rev. RECINO S (retrograde) Iocastos, nude to the waist and holding a staff in his right hand, seated left on a stool; all within a laurel wreath. Herzfelder 34. HN III 2483. Rare. Very attractively toned and sharply struck. Some minor traces of overstriking on the reverse, otherwise. Extremely fine.
