KYRENAIKA. Kyrene. Circa 331-322 BC. Hemistater or Drachm (Gold, 15 mm, 4.28 g, 10 h), struck under the magistrate Jason. Youth, wearing a short chiton and with his petasos hanging behind his neck, riding a horse trotting to left, holding the reins with both hands; in the field to right, barley grain. Rev. I-A/Σ-Ο/И-Ο Silphium plant with three pairs of leaves and five umbels. BMC 125-126 = Naville 33-34 (same dies). Very rare, well-struck and well-centered. Scattered minor marks, otherwise, good very fine.

Naville 33 (=BMC 125) is actually struck from the same pair of dies as Naville 34 (=BMC 126), with the only difference being the die break on the right side of the reverse which was mistakenly explained by Naville as being part of the inscription.
