IONIA. Uncertain mint. Circa 600-550 BC. Myshemihekte or 1/24th Stater (Electrum, 6 mm, 0.65 g), Phokaic standard. Head of a Siren to left, with a prominent nose and eye, three large curls along her forehead, and a long, tendril-like lock of hair running from the top of her head down to behind her neck; on her neck itself, her hair falls in three braids that form a letter-like pattern (ΕΕΕ). Rev. Irregular incuse square. Apparently unpublished: seemingly only the second, and better preserved, example known. The other piece, from the same dies, appeared as Savoca 33, 2019, 108 (though the head was misidentified as being both male and helmeted). A clear, well centered and highly interesting early coin, with a head in a rudely vigorous, archaic style. Extremely fine.

It has been suggested that this coin can be related to the series of Siren hemihekta, as SNG Kayhan 1534.
