LUCANIA. Velia. Circa 440/35-400 BC. Drachm (Silver, 17 mm, 4.00 g, 12 h). Head of a nymph to left, with her curly hair confined by a band. Rev. ΥΕΛΗ Owl standing left on olive branch. De Nanteuil 191 (this coin). HN III 1272. Jameson 383 (same obverse die). NG Blackburn 96. Williams 172 (O110/R130). Attractively toned and of a fine, serene Classical style. About extremely fine.
