EPEIROS. Ambrakia. Circa 456-426 BC. Stater (Silver, 22 mm, 8.55 g, 3 h). A Pegasos flying to left with curved wings; below, serpent coiled around tortoise. Rev. A Head of Athena to left, wearing a Corinthian helmet, lacking a neck flap but is surmounted by a bull butting to left, and with her hair long; all within an incuse square. Calciati 4. Ravel 12. Rare. A coin of excellent style, lightly toned. Some flatness, otherwise, good very fine.
