BRUTTIUM, Kroton. Circa 300-250 BC. Octobol or Half stater (Silver, 16mm, 2.80 g 4), of reduced weight. Youthful and beardless male head to right, wearing a taenia. Rev. ΚΡΟ Owl with closed wings standing left; at feet to left, grain ear on stalk. HN III 2195. SNG ANS 421. SNG Copenhagen 1809. An attractive, sharply struck and very nicely toned example. Slightly misshapen flan, otherwise, extremely fine.
