EASTERN CELTS. 3rd century BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 24 mm, 12.68 g, 12 h), imitation of Philip II of Macedon, ’mit unvollständiger Legende’ Type. Laureate head of Zeus to right. Rev. IΙΛΙΠΠVS Nude youth on horseback right, holding rein and palm frond; below, Λ above torch; below raised foreleg, kerykeion. Cf. Flesche 640. Lanz 359. Preda pl. 2, 9. Nicely toned and attractive. About very fine.
