THRACE. Maroneia. Circa 189/8-49/5 BC. (Bronze, 26.5 mm, 15.98 g, 12 h). Head of youthful Dionysos to right, wearing ivy wreath. Rev. ΔΙΟΝVΣΟV / ΣΩΤΗΡΟΣ / ΜΑΡΩΝΙΤΩΝ Dionysos, nude but for chlamys draped over his left arm, standing left, holding grape bunch in right hand, two narthex stalks in his left; flanking his feet, two monograms. HGC 3.2, 1557. Schönert-Geiss 1415 (V25/R54). Dark green patina. Light porosity, otherwise, very fine.
