THRACE. Abdera. Circa 411/0-386/5 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 24 mm, 12.62 g, 3 h), struck under the magistrate Molpagoras. ABΔHPITEΩN Griffin with curved wings seated to left, raising his right forepaw. Rev. EΠI MOΛ-ΠAΓOPEΩ Female entertainer, wearing short chiton and tall circular headdress, dancing to right. May, Abdera 313 (A228/unrecorded reverse die). Same dies as Triton III (1999), 407. Very rare; with a bold and attractive griffin. Rough and corroded area on the reverse, otherwise, good very fine.
