Head of Kore-Persephone to left, wearing wreath of wheat leaves, triple-pendant earring and pearl necklace; below her chin, swastika to right; around, four dolphins. Basel 394, Jenkins Punic 70 and Rizzo pl. LXVI, 1 (all same dies). Rare. Nicely toned and attractive. Some areas of slight striking flatness on the obverse, otherwise, good very fine.
Ex Numismatica Ars Classica L, 18 May 2001, 1185.
The quality of the dies used to strike this coin is outstandingly high, closely based on the style of Euainetos. Not only is the head of Kore extremely lovely, but the details of the charioteer are masterfully done.
