AKARNANIA, Leukas. Circa 350-320 BC. Stater (Silver, 21mm, 8.50 g 12). Pegasos leaping right; below, Λ. Rev. Head of a goddess to right (Athena or possibly Aphrodite), wearing Corinthian helmet with back flap; behind neck, Λ and ladle with a long handle (kyathos). BMC Corinth p. 131, 71. BCD 223 var. Calciati 109/2. A lovely toned example of splendid style. Nearly extremely fine.

From the Demarete collection.

The Pegasos on this coin is rather archaizing in flavor - his mane is shown as a crest and his posture is one of a horse that is leaping, perhaps taking off, rather than flying in the usual way.
