Netherlands. William III. 1672-1689. Medal (Silver, 61.8mm, 56.54 g 12), an original and very fine hollow cast medal on the Peace of London, 1674, by C. Adolfszoon (?), 1674. VIRES ULTRA SORTEM QUE IUVENTAE (=his strength is beyond his years) The young Prince William on horseback before a scene of the capture of the city of Naarden. Rev. A DOMINO VENIT PAX ET VICTORIA LAETA ( = From God comes Peace and happy Victory, and with the date in chronogram form DMIVIXVICIL) Dove, with olive branch in its beak, flying left over the sea toward the rising sun. Eimer 253. MI I, p. 561, 225. PiN 281. Van Loon III, 131. Very rare. Made from two silver, one-sided plaques soldered together and held within a silver hoop ring. Attractively toned. Very minor edge bangs, otherwise, extremely fine.
