KYRENAIKA. Barke. Circa 480-435 BC. Drachm (Silver, 15 mm, 3.15 g, 9 h). B-A Silphium plant with two pairs of leaves and three umbels. Rev. B-A-P-K Within a dotted circle, head of bearded Zeus-Ammon to right, with a ram’s horn over his ear and with his hair bound in simple plaits; all within an incuse square, including the first four digits of the ethnic in the corners. Apparently unpublished with the ethnic both sides of the coin. Cf. BMC 11 & SNG Copenhagen 1285 (this reverse die, but the obverse lacks the ethnic). Good very fine.
