PTOLEMAIC KINGS OF EGYPT. Ptolemy I Soter, 305-282 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 30.5 mm, 14.82 g, 12 h), signed by Δ..., Alexandria, 300-285 BC. Diademed head of Ptolemy I to right, wearing aegis around his neck; within his hair behind his ear, tiny Δ. Rev. ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΠΟΛΕΜΑΙΟΥ Eagle, with closed wings, standing left on thunderbolt; to left, monogram of ΧΑ. CPE 141. SNG Copenhagen 49. Svoronos 234. Beautifully toned and well-struck on a broad flan. Very minor flan crack and minor marks, otherwise, extremely fine.
