IONIA. Teos. Circa 475-465 BC. Stater (Silver, 24 mm, 12.19 g, 12 h). Griffin with open jaws and his left foreleg raised, seated to right on ground line over an egg and dart frieze; to right, owl standing to right, his head facing. Rev. Quadripartite incuse square. Balcer 100. Pozzi 2518. Rare and beautifully toned. Small flan crack, otherwise, about extremely fine.
