LOKRIS. Lokris Opuntii. Circa 338-316 BC. Chalkous (Bronze, 14 mm, 1.90 g, 9 h). Laureate head of Apollo to right. Rev. ΛOKPΩN EΠIKPA Cnemis (or greave, the armor that protects the shin); all laurel wreath tied on the left (the wreath bottom) and on the right (wreath top). BCD Lokris 126. Corpus group 14.1. By far the best example of this extremely rare type, of which only three were known to BCD. Minor marks, otherwise, very fine.
