SICILY. Motya. Circa 425-415/10 BC. Didrachm (Silver, 22 mm, 8.60 g, 9 h). MO-TY-AION Nude youth, preparing to spring off a horse galloping to left, holding the reins with his right hand, steadying himself with his left propped on the horse's back, and with his entire body on the horse's left side. Rev. Female head to right, with hair bound; around, three dolphins swimming clockwise; below neck, 𐀇 (= Punic ក). Jameson 665 = Jenkins, Punic, 12 (O7/R7) (this coin cited) = Niggeler 125 (this coin). Very rare with the Punic letter on the reverse. Toned. Some small scratches and marks, otherwise, good very fine.
