GREECE. Georgios I, 1863-1913. 10 Drachmai 1876 (Gold, 19 mm, 3.25 g, 5 h), Paris = A, struck from dies by Albert-Désiré Barre, reeded edge. ΓΕΩΡΓΙΟΣ Α! ΒΑΣΙΛΕΥΣ ΤΩΝ ΕΛΛΗΝΩΝ / A. Youthful head of George I to right; below truncation, in tiny letters, BAPPE. Rev. ΒΑΣΙΛΕΙΟΝ ΤΗΣ ΕΛΛΑΔΟΣ Laurel wreath containing surrounding 10 / ΔΡΑΧΜΑΙ / 1876 in three lines; privy marks bee (for the Mint Director, Renouard de Bussière, 1860-1879) on the left and an anchor (for the Engraver General, A. D. Barre, 1855-1878) on the right. Divo 48. Karamitsos 162, KM 48. In lower grades this is not an uncommon coin, but it is extremely rare in MS 66 as it is here. Graded by NGC "MS 66". Top pop in NGC. Cert number: 2908902-001.

From the El-Greco Collection of Modern Greek Rarities, and from the Loulakakis Collection, acquired in the late 1970s from G. Brosi who had, in turn, acquired it in 1976 from Maison Platt in Paris.
