KINGS of LYDIA. Alyattes II. Circa 610-560 BC. Trite (Electrum, 4.71 g), Sardes. Valvel Head of lion to left, with open jaws and staring eye. Rev. Double incuse square. Weidauer 93. Very rare, in remarkably fine condition, and very well struck. About extremely fine.

This piece, so well centered so that the legend is very clear, is unusually fine. This is one of the first inscribed coins ever issued.
