CALABRIA. Tarentum. Circa 380-325 BC. Diobol (Silver, 11 mm, 1.12 g, 4 h). Head of Athena to right, wearing crested Attic helmet adorned with an olive wreath and a pearl necklace; below neck truncation, Δ. Rev. Herakles kneeling to right, holding club in his right hand and strangling lion with his left. Côte 290 (same dies). CsP I, 30 (same obverse die). Diobols, Type 106. HN III 911. Vlasto 1342-1343 (but Δ on the obverse not noted). A lovely, lightly toned example of a refined style. About extremely fine.
