CELTIC, Middle Danube. Uncertain tribe. 2nd century BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 21.5 mm, 12.47 g, 12 h), the ‘Kroisbach’ type, with diadem and ‘Reiterstumpf’, Burgenland or Western Slovakia. Diademed, beardless male head to right. Rev. Horse prancing to left with the torso of a rider on his back; below, caduceus to left. CCCBM I, xlvii, b, 153. Lanz 743. De Nanteuil 26. OTA 469. Very nicely toned and attractive. Very well-centered on a slightly tight flan, otherwise, extremely fine.
