SICILY. Syracuse. Philistis, wife of Hieron II, 275-215 BC. 16 Litrai (Silver, 27 mm, 14.05 g, 10 h), circa 218/7-214. Diademed and veiled bust of Philistis to left; behind, Tyche standing to left. Rev. ΒΑΣΙΛΙΣΣΑΣ ΦΙΛΙΣΤΙΔΟΣ Nike driving quadriga moving slowly to right; in field to right, A. CCO 197 (same obverse die). SNG ANS -. Extremely rare with Tyche as a symbol on the obverse. Very attractively toned. Reverse very slightly off-center, otherwise, extremely fine.
