MOESIA INFERIOR. Tomis. period of Antoninus Pius, 138-161. Hemiassarion (Bronze, 17 mm, 3.32 g, 6 h). ΤΟΜΟΥ ΗΡΩΟС Diademed and draped bust left of the legendary founder of the city, the youthful hero Tomos. Rev. ΤΟΜΙΤΩΝ Bunch of grapes. AMNG 2553. RPC IV 4486 temporary number (same dies). An elegant, sharply struck coin with a fine, dark, blackish-brown patina. Minor flan crack, otherwise, nearly extremely fine.
