KINGS OF MACEDON. Alexander III ‘the Great’, 336-323 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 29 mm, 16.94 g, 11 h), uncertain Greek or Macedonian mint, c. 310-275. Head of youthful Herakles to right, wearing lion's skin headdress. Rev. ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ Zeus seated left on backless throne, holding eagle in his right hand and scepter in his left; in field to left, amphora. Price 863. Clear, well-struck and of lovely style. About extremely fine.
