KINGS OF MACEDON. Alexander III ‘the Great’, 336-323 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 27 mm, 17.26 g, 9 h), Pella, circa 325-315. Head of youthful Herakles in lion's skin headdress to right. Rev. AΛEΞANΔPOY Zeus seated to left on throne with his feet on a footstool, holding eagle with closed wings on his outstretched right hand and long scepter in his left; to left, rose with bee alighting right atop its petals. Price 206. SNG Berry 204. SNG Copenhagen 209. Sharply struck and very attractive. Reverse very slightly doublestruck, otherwise, good extremely fine.
