MACEDON. Akanthos. Circa 500-480 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 25 mm, 16.98 g). Lion to left, attacking bull kneeling to right, head lifted and turned back to left; in exergue, flower. Rev. Quadripartite incuse square. Desneux 10a = Tselekas 46 (this coin). Lightly toned and well-struck in high relief. Extremely fine.

From the Stoecklin Collection, bought from Münzen und Medaillen in Basel, and from the Desneux collection, and very probably from the Hierissos Hoard of 1934 (IGCH 357).
