BAKTRIA, Greco-Baktrian Kingdom. Eukratides I, c. 170-145 BC. Stater (Gold, 20mm, 8.52 g 12), c. later 160s. Diademed and draped bust of Eukratides to right, wearing Macedonian helmet adorned with bull’s horn and ear. Rev. ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΜΕΓΑΛΟΥ / ΕΥΚΡΑΤΙΔΟΥ The Dioskouri galloping to right, each holding spear and palm branch; below right, monogram. Bopearachchi Series 5 (monogram unlisted). Mitchiner 176 (monogram unlisted). Cf. SNG ANS 463. Triton I, 1997, 618 (same dies). Extremely rare, a lightly toned and splendid example. Good extremely fine.
