ATTICA. Athens. Circa 467-465 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 24 mm, 17.21 g, 4 h). Head of Athena to right, wearing crested Attic helmet adorned with three olive leaves and palmette, disc earring and pearl necklace. Rev. ΑΘΕ Owl standing right, with a small, three-pointed tail, feet close together, and head facing; behind, olive spray and crescent moon; all within incuse square. Starr Group II. C, cf. 66-68. Svoronos pl. 8, 19. Well struck with a full crest and attractive toning. Among the best examples in existence. Extremely fine.
