CAMPANIA. Neapolis. Circa 320-300 BC. Nomos or Didrachm (Silver, 19 mm, 6.02 g, 8 h), struck under the magistrate Diophanes. Diademed head of the nymph Parthenope to right, wearing triple-pendant earring and pearl necklace; behind neck, kantharos; below, ΔΙ. Rev. NEOΠOΛITHΣ Man-headed bull walking right, head turned to the front; above, Nike flying right, placing wreath on bull's head. HN III 571. Sambon 447. SNG ANS 320. With a lovely head of Parthenope. Some light porosity, otherwise, about extremely fine.
