KINGS OF MACEDON. Alexander III ‘the Great’, 336-323 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 27 mm, 16.91 g, 12 h), struck under Philip III, Babylon, c. 323-317. Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion's skin headdress. Rev. ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ Zeus seated left on high-backed throne, holding eagle in his right hand and scepter in his left; to left, Μ; below throne, ΛΥ. Price 3692. A well-centered piece in high relief. Good very fine.
