Roman Republic, 2nd - 1st Century BC. Seal (Lead, 20mm, 6.56 g 12). Quadriform head of Janus: on the right and on the bottom, a bearded male and, on the left and on top, a diademed female (Zeus and Hera?). Rev. Aeneas walking right carrying Anchises, leading Ascanius by the hand. Very rare and interesting. Very fine.

IMP CAESAR Naval and military trophy facing, composed of helmet, cuirass, shield, and crossed spears, set on prow of galley right; crossed rudder and anchor at base. BMC 625. Cohen 119. RIC 265a. Beautiful iridescent toning. Edge chipping and the reverse struck off center, otherwise, good very fine.
