L. Plautius Plancus, 47 BC. Denarius (Silver, 20mm, 3.71 g 6), Rome. L PLAVTIVS Head of Medusa, facing, with coiled snake on either side. Rev. PLANCVS Victory (or winged Aurora) flying right, head slightly left, holding reins and conducting four rearing horses of the sun. Babelon (Plautia) 15. Crawford 453/1a. Sydenham 959. Beautifully toned. Reverse struck from a slightly worn die, otherwise, extremely fine.
