M. Junius Brutus, 54 BC. Denarius (Silver, 18mm, 3.42 g 3), Rome. BRVTVS Bearded head of L. Junius Brutus (Cos 509) to right. Rev. AHALA Bearded head of C. Servilius Ahala to right. Babelon (Junia) 30 and (Servilia) 17. Crawford 433/2. Sydenham 907. Well centered and pleasantly toned. A remarkably good example of this issue. Minor flan fault on reverse, otherwise, extremely fine.

Priestly implements: culullus, aspergillum, ax with wolf's head at the top and apex. Babelon (Julia) 9. Crawford 443/1. Sydenham 1006. Attractive and clear. Insignificant banker’s mark on obverse and some edge nicks, otherwise, good very fine.

L HOSTILIVS / SASERN Nude Gallic warrior, holding shield with his left hand and hurling spear with his right, standing left in a galloping biga being driven to right by a seated charioteer holding a whip. Crawford 448/2. RBW 1569. Sydenham 952. Beautifully toned. Some flatness on the obverse and with the reverse struck off center, otherwise, extremely fine.
