CALABRIA, Tarentum. Circa 272-240 BC. Didrachm or Nomos (Silver, 20mm, 6.49 g 9), Philotas. Horseman advancing left, crowning horse with wreath; to right, ΔI; below horse, ΦIΛΩ-TAΣ. Rev. TAPAΣ Taras riding dolphin left, holding kantharos in right hand and distaff in left; to right, rooster. HN III 1024. Vlasto 846. Reverse struck somewhat off center and with minor flan faults, otherwise, nearly extremely fine.

Herakles standing right, wrestling with the Nemean lion. HN III 1360. Van Keuren 38. An exceptionally nice example of this usually poorly struck issue. Extremely fine.
