EASTERN CELTS. Late 2nd-1st century BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 33mm, 16.58 g 6), imitating Thasos. Celticized wreathed head of Dionysos to right. Rev. Celticized Herakles standing facing, holding club and lion skin; ribbed and dotted imitative legend. Göbl OTA pl. 48/49, Klasse V. Lanz 983-994. Attractively toned and well struck on a wavy flan. About extremely fine.

ASIA MINOR, The Galatians. After 268 BC (?). Drachm (Silver, 21mm, 3.93 g 11), imitating a Drachm of Alexander III from Magnesia. Celticized head of Herakles to right, wearing lion skin headdress. Rev. ΑΛΕΞΑΝ Celticized Zeus seated on backless throne to left, holding eagle in his right hand and scepter in his left; before, Λ within wreath. Cf. Lanz 153, 2011, 12 (different style). A beautifully struck example in excellent metal. Good extremely fine.
