GAUL, Bellovaci. Circa 60-30/25 BC. Quarter stater (Gold, 11mm, 1.39 g 1), 'Quart à l’astre' type. Abstracted face right, with huge eye; to left, torques and radiant sun. Rev. Horse galloping right; above, radiant sun. DT Serie 42 A, 472 var. LT 7239 var. Scheers 166. A rare variety with only one sun on reverse. A particularly fine and elegant example with lovely toning. Minor areas of weak striking, otherwise, extremely fine.
