Trajan, 98-117. Sestertius (Orichalcum, 32mm, 24.57 g 7), Rome, 115-116. IMP CAES NER TRAIANO OPTIMO AVG GER DAC P M TR P COS VI P P Laureate bust of Trajan to right, with slight drapery on left shoulder. Rev. IMPERATOR VIIII / S C Trajan, in military dress, seated right on high platform on left, raising his right hand haranguing soldiers; by him stand two officers, in front of him on the ground stand an officer right, holding spear (?), and four soldiers left; the two front soldiers raise their right hands, the third holds two spears, the fourth holds a horse by the bridle; three standards in background. BMC 1018, BN 844 var. Cohen 178 var. and RIC 657 var. (differing bust type). Woytek 549b (same dies). A rare variety. Good fine.
