EASTERN CELTS. 2nd-1st century BC. Drachm or Didrachm (?) (Silver, 22mm, 4.66 g 9), imitating Damastion. Celticized head of Herakles wearing lion-skin headdress to right. Rev. Tripod; above, crescent and below, zigzag line; to left, monogram; to right, knife. Castelin -. Cf. Dembski 1536-1537. Flesche -. Lanz 1011. Extremely rare and of particular style. A well struck and finely toned example. Holed and with a scratch on obverse, otherwise, good very fine.

ΦIΛIΠΠOΥ (somewhat blundered) Zeus seated left on low throne, holding long scepter in his left hand and, in his right, eagle standing right with closed wings; to left, monogram. Göbl OTA pl. 45, 591/2 var. Lanz 939. A nicely struck and well-preserved example. Good very fine.

EASTERN CELTS. 3rd-2nd century BC. Drachm (Silver, ), imitating Alexander III (obverse) and Lysimachos (reverse) staters. Helmeted head of Athena to left, with serpent coiled on the helmet bowl. Rev. [...]NΛ Athena seated left on throne with shield, holding Nike in her outstretched right hand, resting her left elbow on shield and holding a transverse spear in her left hand; before Athena’s head, four pellets. De la Tour pl. 53, 10061. Flesche 558-559. Göbl OTA 45, 596/1. Very rare. A lovely example with an unusual type combination. Struck on a slightly short flan as all other known examples, otherwise, good very fine.
