DOC 1a. SB 1583. A very sharp and attractive piece. Some very slight traces of double striking, otherwise, good extremely fine.


Leo IV, known as the Khazar after his mother’s origin, was born in 750 and died from a fever (or from poison) after a short reign. His coins bear portraits of his father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
