Anonymous, c. 225-214/212 BC. Quadrigatus (Silver, 23 mm, 6.68 g, 6 h), Rome. Laureate janiform head of the Dioscouri; with tall, narrow heads and partially joined sideburns. Rev. Jupiter, holding scepter and thunderbolt, standing right in a quadriga, which is driven to right by Victory who stands beside him; below, raised tablet with ROMA in incuse letters. Crawford 30/1 and pl.VI, 8-9. Sydenham 64b. A very elegant, well-struck and well-centered piece of great beauty. Good extremely fine.
