PISIDIA. Etenna. Severus Alexander, 222-235. (Bronze, 32 mm, 18.67 g, 6 h). ΑΥ Κ Μ ΑΥ CEΟΥΗ ΑΛEΞΑΝΔΡΟC CEΒ Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Severus Alexander to right. Rev. EΤEΝΝEΩΝ Goat standing left on serpent, looking back; to right, jug. Lindgren III 702. RPC VI Online temp. 6028. Von Aulock, Pisidiens II -. Very rare - only one other example known, this by far the finest. Rough brown surfaces, otherwise, very fine.

What an extraordinary reverse! This goat standing on a serpent must relate to a local myth, which would have been well-known to the coin's intended users, but which is an enigma to us today.
