SASANIAN KINGS. Khosrau II, 591-628. Dinar (Gold, 23 mm, 4.55 g, 3 h), dated, year 21 = 610. GDH pzwt- hwslwd mlk'n mlk', in Pahlavi Bust of Khosrau (Husrav) II to right, wearing a diademed mural crown, with the diadem ends fluttering behind and a crescent at the front, surmounted by two wings supporting a star within a crescent; with his hair flowing at the back of his head, a fillet over each shoulder, wearing a necklace with a pendant and highly decorated robes. To the right, before his face, crescent. Rev. y'cwysty - yl'n 'pzwt hwytk, in Pahlavi Bust of Anahit facing with a flaming nimbus. Alram 919. Göbl type III/4 (pl. 14, 217). Malek, Khusrau 6-7. Mochiri 916. Saeedi AV95 (same dies). Sunrise 986. Rare. Lightly toned and attractive. Extremely fine.
