SELEUKID KINGS OF SYRIA. Antiochos VII Euergetes (Sidetes), 138-129 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 28.5 mm, 14.02 g, 12 h), Tyre, year 178 = 135/4 BC. Diademed and draped bust of Antiochos VII to right. Rev. ANTIOXOY BAΣIΛEΩΣ Eagle, with palm frond behind, standing left on prow; to left, club surmounted by Tyre monogram; to right, date HOP below monogram of AΣY; inner left, monogram of IEPA; between eagle's legs Σ. SC 2109/6. Deeply toned and with a very attractive portrait. Minor marks, otherwise, about extremely fine.

From the collection of W. Belser, Zürich, prior to 1965, and that of his son, acquired in the early 1970s.
