CILICIA. Mallos. Circa 440-390 BC. Stater (Silver, 22.5 mm, 10.56 g, 2 h). [m'rln] (in Aramaic, but barely visible) Winged and beardless male figure, draped from the waist and with a plume on his head, striding to right, holding, with both hands, a solar disc; in field to right, barley grain. Rev. Μ [Α Λ Ρ] Swan standing to left, flapping its wings; in field to right, grasshopper to left. BMC 17. Nomos 16, 136 = Prospero 583 (same dies, but with the symbols off the flan). Very rare, especially so well-struck with both the obverse and reverse symbol clearly visible. Bold and attractive. Struck on an oblong flan, otherwise, about extremely fine.
